I'm currently building a mentoring community purely for article marketing. I see the Article Marketing segment of the Internet Marketing world as 3-level
Level 1 (note: few marketers even get this far)
Extensive publishing
read: lots of articles on a wide variety of topics, using pseudonyms, pointed in all sorts of interesting monetizing directions on HUNDREDS of AD's
Level 2
Build your own article directory. You can buy a script, use a freebie one (although these tend to be encrypted, difficult to enhance, and are often the subject of spam attacks on the article directory site itself)
Level 3
What I call an ADF - Article Directory Farm - applying niche marketing techniques to the creation and marketing of multiple Article Directories.
Some day, I expect to see AD Farms as commonly referred to as Blog farms.
