Recently, the list of social networking sites has grown long. In the early days, there were only a few dominant sites like Myspace and Facebook. Now, we have huge directories of social networking communities that try to keep up with the massive growth of this new Internet community type. Sites like Squidoo and Mashable join oldtimers such as Slashdot.

What is it (Social networking) and why should you care?  The  world is one gigantic network.
